RE: Yak55sp For Aerofly Pro
Just flew it. If the real one flies like that, I want one! Only thing is, (in my humble opinion) the ailerons need more throw. Other than that it's awesome! Jordan

Wow that thing is a 3D maniac. Flat spins both upright and inverted are great. Hovering and torque rolls are just a little harder than the CAP 232. I really like this plane. The elevator and rudder throws are huge. The knife edge is almost zero coupling of any type. I can do knife edge loops very tight. I find myself doing very low flatspins by just playing with the sticks, very cool. then right at the deck I end up in a hover.
It needs more aileron throws? How so? What can't it do with the throws as is?
It's set up with loads of power that's for sure.
Joe

I installed it (named the folder Yak55sp), but it doesn't show up in the list of aircraft.
Is this intended for expansion pack users only?

Thanks, BansheePilot. The Yak flies GREAT!!!!! How do you change the color schemes. The aircraft menu in AFP only shows the red, white & blue one, however, the other schemes are in the same folder. Thanks!

RE: Yak55sp For Aerofly Pro
Hey Ken
Well it's obvious you have it in the right folder? You might want to try and un-zip it once more and reinstall it back to the same folder after you have removed it.
Sorry for the lack of help.

RE: Yak55sp For Aerofly Pro
To change the paint job go into the AFP/Yak55sp/Skins/ Open up any of those 4 folders (Black, Blue, Orange or Default skin) the 2 files YakFuse.bmp and Yakwing.bmp are the skins. Copy both of these files and paste into the original AFP/Yak55sp/ directory. It should replace the 2 skins already contained.

Did you un-zip the file first?

RE: Yak55sp For Aerofly Pro
Hello Ed
When I down load a plane I send it to my Document, then a folder just for
AFP downloads that I have set up ( New Folder ).
Then right click the file and then click on Extract all. Now the file should
be un-ziped. You can now send the file to AFP, aircraft.
Now Just open two windows, one with the new un-ziped file, and the orther
window have AFP expanded.
Now you can just drag and drop the file right into AFP aircraft folder.
This for Windows XP but should work with other OS.

RE: Yak55sp For Aerofly Pro
Thanks Ben and Geoff
I flew the snot out of the Yak last night and I love it. You did a fantastic job on the graphics and flight envelope.
Although I must say since I can do rolling harriers with it it must not be very realistic

RE: Yak55sp For Aerofly Pro
I found that it needed quite a few changes to fly REALLY realistically in harriers and elevators and other manuvers.I found that its nose came up in harriers way too high and early.
After all, our goal is realism, rarther than having a plane that makes you look like you fly awesome, leaving you dissappointed with yours skills when you get to the flying field.
However, its still a great plane, well done to whoever designed it.
If anyone is interested in having a go with my modified Yak, send me a pm and i will email it to you.

RE: Yak55sp For Aerofly Pro
I have been told by an owner of the Yak 55 50% with DA 200 that it flies almost identical. He said it was the most realistic plane he has ever had or seen.
I have also seen him fly at Joe Nall, and it was the most stable plane I had ever seen.
You do realize this is designed as a 50% aircraft and not a .46.
I would have to say your assumption is inaccurate until you have flown the plane.
