Is it possible first off to add on to the lite version. I read around and could not find anything. Next, I am concerned the add ons will bog my computer down too much. Is that possible? Here is what I have
Sony Laptop:
AMD-900 MHZ
384 RAM
32 video
I tried running a friends program on my laptop last week... and it was really struggling, and not doable. I bought and upgraded to the 384 Ram. Now what ? Thanks.

From: Center of the Flyover States,
Not sure what the problem is.......You should be OK of your 32MB video is true/not shared video. Also 384MB ram is what I have and G2 runs very smoothly for me on a 1M MB P3 with a separate 32MB GeForce vid Card.
Without reading about it at the Real FLight website I would tend to doubt that you could add the add-on files......cuz that is why it is "Lite", just a barebones sim for those who want to save money on the initial purcase.

OK, I think mine is shared vid mem. How do I go into the computer to find out what exactly it has. I am not a gamer, this is the first Video related issue I have had. Thanks.

From: Center of the Flyover States,
You could check your original documentation/descriptions that came with your laptop. Or you could go to the website of your manufacturer and look through their current offerings to see how they describe the video component.
"Shared" means that part (32MB?) of your RAM memory is used to run the Video. Possibly adding to your RAM to bring it up to 384MB might help in this department, but I also am no GEEK. Another thing that you could do is to make sure your video drivers are current. Again I am weak in this area, but you would need to go to the website of your video card manufactuer and download the drivers for your card. A call to your computer mfr help line might give you some advise.....good luck!

Their website is not very clear, but
The page for Add Ons 4 does not say.
The page for Add On 5 specifically states "Expands the capabilities of your RealFlight G2 or G2 Lite Simulator"

This chart from realflight.com says Lite has "limited" add on capability, whatever that means.
