Default problem, Realflight on Windows XP system

Hi,
I have a problem getting Realflight to run on a new XP system. It has the old gameport on the controller, and I bought a Radio Shack gameport to USB connector. The control panel recognizes the controller and allows me to calibrate it. When I try to load the RealFlight program, however, I get an error regarding loading joystick drivers. It says I might need to open the control panel to add the controller, which is already done, and I get in a loop. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks

Have you downloaded the latest patch for G2? There were some XP problems a while back, but they have been cleared up as far as I've seen with the patches.

I got a new computer a few months ago and had to contact RealFlight to re-register my copy so I could get the updates. RealFlight told me to be sure and download the updates before I attempted to open the program on XP.

You can contact RealFlight by phone at 217-398-8970 if you need to get your copy of G2 loaded on a different computer. The update can be downloaded during the installation before you run the game. The updates are also available on their website.

I did find something else out on my particular version, I have the version ending in .219, and per their automated support line you MUST go through the Online Updates link in the control panel to get the update for this version. So you have to load the program first, then get online, then bring up the control panel, and then go to online updates. From there you need to reregister your program and then Update To Latest Version. I got it downloaded late last night and haven't tried it yet, but at least I was finally able to make some headway without getting an error. Hope this helps!

Depending on your version just downloading the install patch from realflight.com doesn't work. It didn't for me.
