Hey Guys
I know a kid that wants to leard to fly so I was going to let him borrow my Real Flight Simulator but his computer doesn't have a Game Port (8 pins on top, 7 on bottom). I went to Radio Shack and bought an adapter to convert it to USB with a selector switch on it to select between different types of controllers. In the control panel on the computer I found that 2 of the positions on the adapter work the proper axis'.
I start Realflight and it tries to load the joystick and I get an error message that suggests to load the controller from the control panel on the computer. I go into game controllers and try to manually add a Realflight controller and get an error message "Your Gameport or Gameport Drivers are not properly configuered. Please consuld your Device Manager."
Any of you got this to work with an adapter? I searched and cannot find anything on RCUniverse. I don't really want to buy the $80 USB controller.
Thanks
Ryan

Ryan,
I am using the same RadioShack USB adapter to run G2 on my laptop (no game port). Try setting the USB adapter to position 4 (wheel). I have found that is the only setting that works.
Good luck. PM or email if you are still having problems.

Got it to work. I had to call technical support to have them erase my registration password so I could reregister it and get the updates. This made it so that with the newer version I could load the prograqm anyway without being able to load the driver for the controller. The version I have kicks you out if the driver doesn't load. I then could go into the controller and select the USB adapter instead of the realflight controller.
Thanks
Ryan
P.S. Don't tell them your loaning your software or they will not help you due to the EULA. They don't figure that it may be uninstalled on your own machine and installed on theirs. Why do they care what machine it is installed on? They wouldn't even help me with a separate question on how to erase my registration password. Oh well. I got it to work.
Thanks

I currently have G2 loaded on 3 of my machines and they all run fine. When you register it to get the updates just be sure you remember you use the same password or it will not work. If you need to erase the registration password you need to call Hobbico's Techinal Support line to erase the information. You will need to tell them the serial number of your G2 and your registration name and address for them to erase your current password.
Hope this helps.
