I have done a search and can't come up with the rec. setting for realism when flying the warbirds. I am currently at: Wind 2.1 m/s, Turbulence 1.0 m/s and, Thermic 1.0 m/s and Speed 140%... This setting gives me some difficulty on landings, but I want to make sure I got a good handle on things before I take up the real (expensive) thing.
I don't know what Thermic is, but when combined with the Windspeed and Turbulence, this setting seems to be really difficult to land.
I just want to get my skills in perspective...

Thermic is updraft. It will make your plane not want to land. You have to push it in.
Practice with the Corsair. If you can master spin recoverys with that plane, you can do it with any of them.

Wish I could practice with the Corsair, but can't get it to lift off. All it will do is taxi. Re-installed and updated, but to no avail... It's the only plane of the many that I have downloaded that will not work right. I will try again with thermic off and see if I can make any progress...

LOL...funny enough I couldn't get it to take off either....pretty sure it is just my own stupidity or something. (Don't get me wrong hgiles not saying you are stupid) Maybe I was always designated to just fly 3D
I did have a really good laugh though at all the stuff I got up to try and get it off the ground but not even jumping off the side of the carrier helped!

Yeah, too many other planes that DO fly and that I actually like to devote too much effort trying to fly the Corsair. I knocked my turbulence figure down to .7 m/s and the landings are do-able now. I practice my warbirds with these settings: 140%, turbulence .7 m/s, windspeed 2.1 m/s and Thermic 1.0 m/s and get a pretty challenging landing from the warbirds. And I do this WITHOUT FLAPS! Flaps make it too easy. Good practice!
