Default Challenger 3m Spannweite for AFP.

Has anyone gotten the Challenger 3m Spannweite to work? It is found at
http://www.rc-sim.de/dl_engine_eng/c...c47e8f178#comm

I would like to fly it, but I can't get it to show up on AFP.

Thanks,
Brad

Yes, I have downloaded and !QUOT!think!QUOT! I unzipped and then dragged the folder to my airplane list under the program files. When opening my airplane list in AFP it shows up in the top right hand corner. The icon is like it has its tail toward you. Hope you can get it to work, but don't snap it to hard or it will pop something off and you have to start over. It still looks cool though.

Thanks for your answer.

There's something more to it than that. When I open the challenger_ma folder, none of the icons inside have the challenger name on them. Every other plane that I have downloaded has had the name of the plane on all of the icons within the folder.

If you've got any idea, I'd sure be glad to hear it.

Thanks again,
Brad

Tell me something Brad. When you unzipped it what happens? When I unzipped, a folder appeared and I did not open it, I just dragged it to the appropriate place. I did not have to open a new folder and place files in it individually. Heck, I dont even think I looked at the name. Do you think I could just send you the folder via an attachment or would that be the wrong thing to do since we downloaded from another source? I'll check my folder at the house and let you know what I really did since I am not at home.

Brad, I went home and took a look at the folder. The folder name was "1010220." I unzipped it again just to make sure and when unzipped there was only one folder. I dragged it over to the aircraft file under program files and it worked just fine. Hope that helps, or at least you know what the unzipped folder is called.

The thing that pops off is the tailwheel. I set the restart time to 1 minimute so I have more time.

Thanks for all of your help, Brian!!

I did just like you did & my folders are also labeled "1010220". Still, the plane does not show up in AFP to select. I then noticed that other planes have files inside their folders named after the specific planes name & .tmg or .tmd files. I tried changing those names from "1010220.tmg" & "1010220.tmd" to "challenger_ma.tmd" & "challenger_ma.tmg". Then the Challenger shows up in AFP for me to select (yeah!), but when I do, my computer nearly locks up & AFP goes black (boo!).

Maybe it's time to throw in the towel.

Thanks again,
Brad

That's really generous of you, Brian. That plane has been giving me so much trouble.......I barely got my computer back with a hard-boot last time I tried.

I imagine that it has roughly the same characteristics as the "Pitts mit 3m Spannweite" that is immediately below it on page 15 of http://www.rc-sim.de In fact, it looks like one is a re-skin of the other.

Have you flown both to know whether that's the case? If so, I may just be better off leaving well enough alone.

Thanks again,
Brad

Sorry havent gotten back with you Brad. No I havent flown the other that you mentioned. I did view it and agree that they look the same, heck they have the same Author?

I have to agree with you about leaving well enough alone. I would'nt want a download to mess up my computer or whatever it has corrupted. Did you want me to still try and send you the folder?

Brian,
You've been super helpful & I sure appreciate it!

If it's not a lot of trouble, you could send it & I'll give it a try.

Thanks a bunch!

Brad,

I am glad to help. First though you will need to PM me so I can get your email. I tried already to PM you with the folder but it would not work. Maybe when I have your regular email and send it that way maybe it will work.

Sure do. I was there last in December. Both my brother as sister live there, and I have played golf at Quail Ridge. Small world. So where do you fly at? Near the airport? Heck there is so much open country between Ark City and Winfield you could almost pick and choose.

I fly at Winfield's Sport Complex, which is a series of football, soccer & baseball fields. Rarely anyone ever there. Sometimes I fly at the local high school....sometimes at the local college (SouthWestern). You're right, there are tons of wide open spaces here. I feel kind of badly for folks that don't have that opportunity. On the down side, I NEVER see other flyers around here.

Next time that you're out here, look me up! I'm lonely!

Actually my 7yr old son comes with me & is learning the hobby.

Thanks for sending that e-mail. I'll give it a try & let you know how it works out.

Brad
