AFP has been a great learning tool and very enjoyable.
However a few days ago, it stopped working. It gets to the small-ish IPACS screen............the one that comes up prior to the spinning plane screen, & then just stays there. It never gets to the spinning plane screen.
The only thing that I can think of is a couple of days ago, I downloaded an Anti-Spyware & Pop Up Blocker offered through our IP, Cox. Then a few days later, this happens.
Now perhaps they're completely unrelated, but I just don't know.
Should I un-install AFP or would it be better to un-install the Cox download? What would you computer geeks do?
Thanks bunches,
Brad

Well here is my 2 cents
Save all yout AFP extra you have added
Un install AFP and delete all the AFP directories
Un unstall the cox download and delete the directories
Re install AFP, the expansion pack then latest update.
If it works fine then . Trash the Cox download
Hope this helps

Mine has done the same thing. All I did was go to the folder where the .exe is and created a new shortcut to it on your desktop. Then launch it from the desktop. If that does not work, try to launch it from the .exe from the main folder. Fixed mine, and did not have to reinstall. Try it out before you attempt to save all your scenery/aircraft/setting files and reinstall.....could save you alot of time.

Thanks guys!
Let's try the simplest approach first. Skibo777, I'm not too great with computers, so please help me to understand where or what the exe is.
Thanks again,
Brad

The exe is the actual AFP Program. Its the transmitter shaped icon that says "afpro"

You should find it here- C:\Program Files\IPACS\AeroFly Professional\afpro.exe
Try to launch it from there by double-clicking on it.
Does that help? Did it work?

Thanks guys.
I tried to launch it from C:\Program Files\IPACS\AeroFly Professional\afpro.exe & got the same result.
Then I created a shortcut to my desktop & got it still froze.
There's also a afpro1686.exe in the same area. Is there any hope for trying the same things with that icon?
Thanks again, guys

You could try to reinstall the update again and see if that fixxes it. If it doesnt you will probably have to reinstall. If you do make sure to save all your added A/C folders and settings so you dont have to redo all of them.

WOW Brad, you do have some problems with AFP. Hope all the posts that you do get help you out. If I were you, I would do as 440GTX said. Un-install everything and re-install including patch. Good Luck. BTW I emailed you.

Mine did the same thing. Heres what I found. In the main menu click on options. Change your resolution to a higher setting and it will work just fine.

Looks like a re-install of the update is the next attempt. If not successful, then a complete reinstall.

Tried to reinstall the update & no dice.
Total un-install & fresh re-install. It works, but from the 'rotating-plane' screen, I get an error message at the top that says "Warning: No OpenGL graphics card driver found". Now I guess that I have to do that. Would I find it at;
- www.evga.com (the makers of my card)
- www.nvidia.com (makers of the chip)
- other?
Thanks guys,
Brad

Go to your cards website and download the latest display drivers for your card. EVGA.com has them, all you need to know is what model you have. You will find the most current drivers under support section, then select display drivers, select your model from the drop-down and your O.S. and save to your PC. After you have downloaded the newest driver, I would uninstall the current display driver, restart and then install the new one. See if that works....

Try here for your drivers
They have all the GFORCE drivers.
You have to download them all, from the below site with 1 file
follow directions , run the application and go from there
http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

Thanks guys,
Skibo777 & 440GTX hit on my biggest question. Does it make any difference if I download the drivers from
http://www.evga.com/support/downloads/default.asp or
http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp ?
If I understand correctly, evga makes the card that has an nvidia chip in it. Is one better to get the dowload from than the other?
Thanks again,
Brad

When you deleted AFP from your control panel , did you also delete the IPAC directory.
I did a delete from my control panel and the IPAC directory was still there.
Delete AFP from your control panel First then delete the IPAC directory from your " My computer "
Try www.nvida.com for your drivers. Pick Gforce and TNT Drivers . Then pick your operating system
like Windows XP/ 2000 .
You will get many card drivers from 1 download
your Windows will detect the proper drivers after you run the application " Did for mine anyway "
Try to istall the Video drivers first , then AFP, then the expansion pack.

Thanks Fred,
I did the download from http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp & it works like it used to.
Since I had already re-installed everything, I downloaded it last, but it worked anyway.
Thanks again,
Brad
