Default G2 on XXP

I have read on other forums that reinstalling G2 after installing XP will clear up the problems. I still have ME so I have no experience, just repeating what others have said. Also I think there is some information about XP issues on the knifeedge web site.
Good luck.

I had XP and it ran fine on it, had to email Knife edge software and get a beta patch for it.

Let us know.

Default G2 Install on XP

The key to installing G2 is order.
Do NOT run G2 until all steps are complete.
These work for both Windows 2000 and XP.
Do them out of order and you can pooch your install real quick.

XP and 2000 both have the latest DirectX so DON'T install the one that comes with the G2 CD.

First Install G2. Before Rebooting do the online update to the latest version.

Then manually install the TX Interface if necessary.
To install the interface do the following.

For 2000 the instructions are in the Program Files\RealFlight Dir
and they are called ManualTX2000.doc

For XP

Go into the Windows Control Panel
Go into System
Go into Hardware
Click on the Add Hardware Wizard
Click on Next and let it scan just for the fun of it ( no choice)
Click on Yes ( Already Connected)
Click on install manually from a list
Click on show all devices.
Click on Have disk
Copy Manafacturers files from C:\Program Files\RealFlight
Click on next,
Realflight driver should appear.
Click on next
Click on next
Click on View/Change resources
Click on Set Manually
Make sure use automatic resources is selected
Click on OK
Click on Finish

Reboot and you should be good to go.

Milage will vary. but this worked for me now several times.
I wrote these kinda quick but I think it is pretty easy to figure out.

Let me know if this helps,
Don

Default g2 on Win Me

I upgraded to win Me from win 98 and g2 started giving troubles. The frame rate dropped drastically. Infact I had to turn OFF everything to get the planes to fly again. In Win 98, I had everything ON. Same PC, same config. But a new OS. Any comments or advice?

Now i am going to get XP...and I am dreading it...

Default Windows ME

I have had every Windows operating system and going from 98 to ME is no upgrade. At least the is my opinion. XP on the other hand is FANTASTIC at least it is for me!

Default G2 on XP

Ragz,

I have had to update just about every driver for my ME. It was a clean install of ME as well. RFG2 Would not give good performance, and it would lock up. The solution for my PC was to install the latest MB AGP driver, not the driver for the card itself. Have you gone this deep into the driver issues? Mine works without any trouble now.

Default RE: G2 on XP

İ tried to install to my new XP from ME which worked perfectly.
Now i started to have several problems.
İ followed every steps and at the end i received so many errors that i stop writing the errors. İt was strange because after updating to the latest version my G2 it gave " please install the original cd to drive D:" İ defenetly have the original cd, purchased from towerhobbies.
After several install and uninstall finally the program started but this time i have problem to install manually the interface driver because it can not be found in c:\programfiles\realflight so i can not find the driver could anyone tell me what to do.
