Default ATI Mobility Radeon

I'm looking for a notebook computer and it would be great if it could run RF G2. According to the RF FAQ, the GeForce2 (or 4) Go and ATI Mobility Radeon graphic accelerators are supposed to work well with G2.

One computer I am considering is a Dell Inspiron 4150 which would be equipped with the Radeon. (I can't afford the GeForce4 equipped 8200!) Does anyone have any real-world experience with the Mobility Radeon?

Cheers,

Rob

Default Not with G2...

But have played a few other games, with excellent results.
Sitting here watching Fellowship of the Ring right now, in 1280x854.
Nary a bobble.

ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 32M
(Of course, it's inside of a Titanium Powerbook G4 with 512M RAM. Your mileage may vary )

I had a Radeon 7500 64M card in a Dell 8100, it was junk, G2 did not run right ( would crash) Autodesk Inventer would not generate 3D drawings properly. The computer was 1 month old and Dell could not get it to work so they replaced it (for FREE) with a Dell 8200 with the GeForce4 64 M card, this card is simply awsome. LeeU

Oh oh. I was afraid of that. Like I said before, I can't afford a computer with the GeForce4 Go card.

How about the GeForce2 Go? Does it work reasonably well with G2?

Thanks Lee. I looked there and it appears one person has been able to make this video card work.

I have a Sony Vaio laptop with an ATI Mobility Radeon and it works fine. I think it is only the 16 meg version but with some of the background objects turned off I get acceptable frame rates on Windows XP.

Thanks Scott.

I'm thinking of getting the 32 Meg version so that might help too.

Cheers,

Default Check Out Notbookcomputers .com

I got a p4 w/ati 7500 dvd, cdrw 256 megs 15" screen, kick ass notebook..all cause I wanted the 7500 ati. It even plays soldier of fortune2 well! Beats the crap out of a dell for the money. Ask for Linda in the AM. Tell her Rich sent you, it may help on price. Also look for your book on pricewatch.com, then mentoin that. It got me a discount over the pricewatch price. This notebook is the same as the alienware, and sager hot rods.

I am using a Dell C610 Latitude computer (1200 Mhz with 512 Ram and ATI Mobility) It runs quite well, I just keep the resolution down a bit.
