Guys I too have the RF G2 and all add-ons but the G2 controller has gone bad for the second time. Their web site and recent correspondence has suggested some places where the "newest" G2 controller can be purchased but all parties concerned have indicated that the controller is not available at all. I guess you can get the "interface" somewhere and use one of your transmitters but....???
My point is that they do not provide any support for the relatively new G2 and i'm not about to take the plunge with G3. If anyone purchases any G2 software/hardware you had better hope it lasts a very long time and you might want to only buy used to balance the risk/reward. I would certainly not suggest buying any G2 component.....IMO.
Based upon the G2 experience I will not be a G3 supporter.

Have you tried contacting Great Planes support? Check out the support email addresses at www.towerhobbies.com I suspect they will help you out.
