Default G3 interface doesn't work

I plugged the cord into my trans (futaba) and into the G3 trans. and it keeps falling out of the sim. trans. Just will not stay in!! I get the split screen but it doesn't work?

Bud:

I had the same problem with mine, besides the left gimbal screwed-up from the factory. The jack is on a long, narrow circuit board on a self-aligning mount, that, well, doesn't self-align. Mine wasn't seated into one of the posts internally. If yours is seated, you may have to manipulate the board/jack assembly internally to correct it. It is the worst mounting arrangement I've ever seen. My left gimbal saddle wasn't fully snapped into place either, which skewed the stick, and caused the centering pin to jump out of its alignment hole.

I don't know if it will void your warranty if you open the cover to check, I did mine, I'm an electronics engineer, and I sure as he** wasn't going to send it back and wait weeks for them to send a new one, and not able to use G3 with another USB interface and my transmitter, because it is a serial numbered, registered controller. A ridiculous software/hardware monopoly, that does nothing but inconvenience loyal customers if they experience trouble with the interlink controller. Bad business, pure and simple.

Good luck!

OH!

There are 4 screws that hold the back panel in place...good luck, Bud.

Thanks Charles, sorry you had the problems you did. Mine plugs in o.k. but just not a good fit, falls out. Also when I start G3 my plane is either gray or some crazy weird pattern all over the aircraft...I have to hit alt/enter twice, once to make color right and again to get toolbar. And I gave my son my RF deluxe...kinda miss it already!

That's odd...mine plugs-in snugly with a "snap" when it seats now. It just fell-out before! Did you load DirectX 9 when it prompted? I don't know anything about your video card, but it sounds like it may not be DirectX 9 compatible. What system are you running?

my system is a P4 1.6ghx a GEforce2 MX MX 400 w/ 64 MB ram and a soundblaster live 5.1. Running 800x600 display mode. Dx9 is installed and all drivers are updated....I had win.ME but it kept locking up so my son put in win 2000 and brought all drivers up to date.

I played with it this morning and got it to work, I had to wiggle the cord to get it to snap into the sim. transmitter and then I found I had to go to controller mapping to set up my futaba...it works fine but wish I could get my toggle switches for dual rates to work as opposed to the ch. 8 knob, i'll work on that.
