Default FMS with keyboard?

I know this sounds stupid, but is anyone using FMS with the keyboard? I D/Led it just to see what it offered and don't want to spend the money on a cable just yet. So.... I thought I'd try it with the keyboard just to see how responsive it is. However, when I hit a key to manuever a plane, it takes about 3-4 seconds for the plane to react. All graphics are updating very quickly, it just takes forever for the plane to react to the keyboard. Because of this, it is totally unflyable. I assume the Tx interface will be better, but i't be nice to get it to work with the keyboard first.

BTW, I'm running Windows Xp on a 1.6Ghz P4, with plenty of RAM, so computer speed isn't the problem...

I used the keyboard for a few days and didn't have that problem, the response was immediate. I'm now using my sidewinder joystick untill my cable comes.

AMD 1Ghz 256M

Maybe try uninsta- install.

I am running 800mhz 256mb ram and 98 it works like it should. I am not sure why you are having a problem may be the graphic card.

I reinstalled it and the keyboard is working fine now. Don't know what the problem was, but it's gone. I'm sure it would be a LOT more fun with a transmitter interface, and I'm working on one now. I hope it will help me teach my son how to land. He's still on the trainer cord, but can take off and fly out a tank without problems.

I just got my DP Ultimate 120 in this week, and now he wants one like it. I told him if he couls learn to solo by Christmas, maybe the little Great Planes ultimate would be under the tree. I sure hope he does it. I think that little bipe would be a blast....

I use a Logitec wingman usb controller it has two sticks and can be configured to fly FMS fine. It is not quite the same as the transmitter but close enough. Both my boys have gotten a lot of stick time. My oldest 14 is about to solo. My 11 year old is not far behind.
