Default G2 and VooDoo3

I checked my computer today and found I have DirectX 9.0c and VooDoo3 with 16 MB ram.
I wanted to buy a used G2 but the spec sheet says it will not support VooDoo 1 or 2. Does that also mean VooDoo3 will or will not work? If G2 does not work does that mean G3 will not work either?
Should I be looking at AeroFly pro instead?
Thanks for your help
Ron

Not sure if G2 will run or not... It probably will as I don't see anything about it not running with a Voodoo3, but it may be choppy with that video card and you'll probably have to run at a low resolution and turn all of the extra visuals off (like trees and such). The requirements on the site specify 8MB of video memory so you're ok there with 16MB.

G3 won't run, it requires 32MB of vid memory.

Old Aerofly Pro requires 16MB vid mem so it may work. AFPD requires 64MB so that's a no-go.

What are the rest of your system specs? They may determine weather or not it's worth it, or even possible, to upgrade to a new card.

It might run.. Its worth a shot.. Itll probably be choppy though.

I used to have a Voodoo3, but that was like when it first came out, not long after that I switched to Nvidia.

BTW, you have Direct X 9.0c? [X(] I didnt know you could get DX 9 to work with at Voodoo lol.

I don't know anything about this stuff. But when I do, DirectX diaagnostic tool, system information, it says DirectX9.0c
Then when I change to display it says, Chip type 3dfx VooDoo3 And then it says approx memory 16.0 MB. Does all this I am screwed as far as G2? When I check Aero Pro it calls for. OpenGL compatible graphic card with at least 16MB. Does any of this mean I could run Aero Pro on my machine? I sure don't want to buy something I can't run.
thanks for your help. I am really lost here.

G2 does not work well, if at all with Voodo chipset cards. You should be able to get another video card, perhaps even a used one to replace it however. Check out a local computer repair shop. They will have used video cards available that they've pulled out of customer's machines who have upgraded to newer technology. A GeForce4 Ti 4200 would be a sweet, and cheap card for G2.

Thanks David, I'll look around town and see if I can scare anything up. Would that GeForce Ti 4200 work ok for AeroFly Pro as well.
Thanks again for the help

Not sure what you are asking for here. The prosessor is a AMD Athlon(tm) 2000+.MMX.3DNow 1.7GHz memory 256MB RAM
I found this.. Is there more somewhere?
Thanks

Yes a GeForce4 Ti card would run AeroFly Pro. Even though they are a couple of years old, they still sit mid-pack in terms of gaming bench-marks. Your CPU is good for now as well. Another 256MB of RAM would be a cheap all-round performance upgrade as well.
