Help,
The G2 has paid it's dues many times over, so far, but I'd like to ask some questions.
How can some one get oriented while flying? The Virt. Instructor tours the field with effortless candor, makes a 180 turn above the field, makes another turn, and comes in for a landing. I cannot for the life of me handle this manuver. I have no depth of field, don't know where I'm at, as far as the plane.
Is this how it goes, or am I missing something? I feel that I have direction correct, but when it comes time to land I'm lost.
Any hints or suggestions.
Thanks for any imput.

If you press the down arrow on your keyboard while you are flying, you will get a visualization of the plane relative to the ground, the view then shortly returns to your plane. I find this very helpful in recognizing where is my plane in relation to runway.
The other thing I find helpful is to go to View/Gadget/Edit Gadgets manu and edit the Advanced Navguide and clear all but the "Aircraft: Heading of aircraft". I also set up a color filter on it such that the font is Green when the aircraft heading is between 175 and 185 degrees. Since my runway is oriented at 180 degrees, this tells me if the plane is heading in the right direction (ignoring wind direction for the moment). I put the advanced navguide at the top of the screen, it is out of the way but useful to glance at.

Thanks Goober,
Have you kept the trees and such? I can't judge the distance. Am I asking to much? If you follow the V.I., (Virt. Instructor), he's flying below the tree level, makes a prefect 180, and so on and so.
Thanks

The virtual flight instructor plane doesn't interact with the "environment", so for example, it won't crash into the trees, it can actually fly through them.
I'm not sure what you mean, but if you are attempting to follow the 180 degree turn virtual instruction on the Rainbow Canyon airport, you are probably asking for too much. On my setup, he is behind the trees at some points from my viewpoint ( I may have changed my pilot position? ).
