RE: RealFlight G3 Basics - Newbies apply here
Great! Thanks for the info.
I put in my order today. Hopefully I'll be crashing virtual birds by this weekend.
(I just found Radd's tutorial on heli's and am going to give it a shot. I can attest to the Rabbit Hop being hard on parts.)
Hope your New Year was a happy one!

Has anyone found that performance (FPS) has actually dropped over time with G3? I have been having this trouble. Same field (stunt) same plane (T6) and my FPS have dropped from 120 (no shadows) down to 30-40 (shadows, particals, trees, all turned off)
I have a P4 2.4 512mem, Radeon 9600. No changes to my system, I have checked all system setting to see if a virus or other software issue was causing this.

Your xmtr will work with G3 out of the box, as G3 comes with all the necessary cables. The manual explains how you can use the mixing in your radio, or you can use the mixing in the software if you want.

It updated just as easy as can be, the interlink controller works like you explained it would, and the heli update made some more models available.. Now just to get that T-Rex and Piccolo Pro going..
..oh, and how do I get rid of the ratcheting throttle? I want to make it have a smooth action for the helis.

Good, I'm glad its working well for you. Here's some info about what you can do to the throttle stick. http://www.knifeedge.com/forums/show...light=throttle

RE: RealFlight G3 Basics - Newbies apply here
I' having a problem.I recently bought G3 and add ons 1 as it is supposed to have the Easysport on it. After I loaded it I don't have the Easysport, although I do have at least some of the planes(I didn't do a complete inventory though). Is it supposed to be in there? That's the only reason I bought it, as that's the plane I'm currently flying actual flight.
Also I noticed that there is a delay in time from stick movement to flight surface movement. Do I need a better video card or is there a setting change I need to make.

I have an HP zd8000us notebook computer, Pentium 4 3.0GHz Proccessor,
1GB DDR2 ****MM, 533MHz, 60GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive, 256MB
ATI Radeon X600 graphics card. Will I encounter any problems running
G3 to it's fullest potential?
Kind Regards,

RE: RealFlight G3 Basics - Newbies apply here
I just bought Add ons volume 1 for G3. From the posts I have read before me, I do not have the older disk. It does not ask me for my company information.
The problem I am having is that it asks me for the serial number from the disk. On the back of my disk there is no serial number and I read the paper manual that said to use the Real Flight serial number, tried it and it wouldn't work.
I could get Add ons 3-5 installed no problem. Just Volume 1 is giving me trouble. Thanks.

You can edit any glider and make it electric, but if you want one that is ready to go, add-ons 4 has an electric glider. As for highstart, the best thing you can do is press Q, use the mouse wheel to get some elevation, press space twice to launch, then P to save that position, Q again and mouse wheel to return to earth, then T to look at your plane again. It's a lot of work but you only have to do it once. Afterwards all resets will put your plane back in the air where you first launched it (note: this won't work at photofields).

I just got the G3 and I’m wondering where I can find the Funtana 40. I’m new to acrobatics and I like to do more, a simulator is a good tool for it. The Funtana has a Saito 82 which spins a 14x4 prop.
The G3 is made by Great planes and I can understand when they don’t feature the Hanger 9 stuff.
Well, here is my question: Did somebody have a software version for the F40 ? In if, can I have it too?
I tried different planes – but they fly different then the F40. One do the knife edge the same the other flies the snap the same – but in general it’s different.
A search here came up only with a version for the G2 and as far I understood, it was not done yet.
I appreciate any help…
Happy landings[sm=thumbup.gif]

Hello G-Pete,
G3's pretty cool Huh??
You can find a Funtana 90 at the RealFlight G3 home page. Look in Trim Scemes and click on the picture. Down load it to your color scemes folder in your G3 folder. Then after loading look at your Extra 330 D or Extra 330 file and click where it says Funtana 90.
You will need to have the add on volumes to fly it.
Hope this helps and have a great time flying G3 and hope to maybe see you around on a multi-player fly in some where.

I have G2 and it works fine. There are some draw backs. you can do little 3d flying with G2 such a hovering etc. I have a Radeon 85000DV card and a powerful Dell Deiension 4600 computer. Some say the 8500 card is limited. Is the G3 that much better than the G2 and will my set up work without having to buy a 150.00 new card???

Ok, How about this one? Just how accurate are the engine models and are things like height above sea level taken into account on the physics models?
In my case I live at 5200 ft (Denver) and I know things dont breath the same up here. Hence props dont bite the same, less lift on the wings and engines don't produce the same HP/Torque as those at sea level.
So if I adjust the field to 5200 ft do the flight physics/engine power really change? Is it enough to worry about in the first place? Will I see a true resultant change in HP and RPM if I change prop pitch?

So far I have the G3 and the add on volume 4, but all 3D planes are big – except the twist 40, again this plane flies different then the Funtana 40.
To come back to your question – yes the G3 is fun. But for right now it’s more or less a video game not a trainer. I was under the impression I could sharp my skills for the plane, which I own.
I don’t want to sound negative…

I believe you can purchase it from Tower but I believe it's the same price as the complete G3. I hope you reported the person that ripped you off.

Just click on the G3 in my first post and it should take you to a site where you can get the whole system for $195.00 with free shipping.

A friend has bought G3 after trying out my G2. I have made a few planes LARGER in G2, you go into a modified plane you can 'multiply' the size from one menu area. I know you can go into the full plane profile and make each part of the plane larger - too dreary.
Any help thanks,
Bart

I just got G3 and was wondering if there are any airports available for indoor flying? I don't want to wait for the Add-on if I don't have to.

Without the add ons there are no inside flying sites. There all out side. I think Vol. 4 or 5 have the flight hanger and I think the expantion 1 has a gym.
