Here's a test @ 1280X1024 with your settings and AA@4X, Anisotropic@8, and Edge 540. Note frame-rate.

My system is Athlon 64 3200+ with 6800 GT video card:

Athlon 64s rock! ;-}

I'm lookin' at a new MB with SLI though...need to get an Athlon 64 4000+ or FX55 for it, and a pair of either the PCIe 6800 GTs or Ultras in SLI mode.

Looks nice! Oh! Did the same test at idle, instead of engine killed and it was just a few frames less...

That E3D looks fantastic. It's now my default colorscheme for that plane. Thanks!

Beat you to it, I have been working on a Blaine Edge I'll upload it soon as its done.

Edit: Heres a sneek peak, its alot harder to do this than it looks very time consuming to get everything straight and proportined correctly (may keep this for the VTOC -CG moved back, bigger prop and less pitch and this baby performs as good as it looks)

Peefiddy-

I love your repaints! I've been messing around a bit with psp7, it's such a blast!
When I get one that's worthy I will post it. I am glad to see you stick it out with G3.
It's a fantastic sim that will only get better with age. Like fine wine! lol.

Thanks again for the sweet contributions!

Thanks DesertRC!
Yeah stick w/PaintShop and you will do great -concentrate on working with vector graphics and multiple layers. Right now I am using a combination of PaintShopPro9, PhotoshopCS, AutoCAD2004 to do re-paints. As soon as they realease the export I have a licensed copy of 3DSmax as well (I am a 3Dmodeler).

Hay Peefiddyonefan,
Love the Kiss paint sceme, Gene Simons would be proud to fly that one. Just watch out so you dont fall under a Royalties infringment rights. Would be cool to see Mean Gene Simons in the driveres seat of that one, tongue out and all.

Actually it is not a "kiss" paint scheme, but a tribute scheme to Darrell Abbott who was a huge Kiss fan (maybe the biggest) and was gunned down while performing on stage recently. Look carefully at the rudder/stab section and you will see Darrell Abbott's pic and the words "RIP Darrell Abbott" the guitars on the wings are the famous Deans guitars that Darrell played exclusively -in fact they are of the new design that Darrell worked on just shortly before his death. I don't get paid for doing this so I don't think Mean Gene will come after me

Hey gang...Here's My try at the Dave Patrick Ultimate that I fly for real. The colors could be tweaked perhaps but I thought it was worth a post. Did it by hand in PS6.0. P51Fan thanks for the cool Yak repaints!!

So tell me if any others have this same experiance......
With G2, I wished my model flew as good as the sim.... with G3, I wish the sim flew as good as my model. I find every unmodified model I try in G3 to be nearly impossible to fly. If I walked into a hobby shop and this product was there for customer inspection, and I had to fly the stock CAP or Ultimate or Yak, I would NOT buy it! I have fussed with the airframe configurations on the YAK to have a decent flying plane, but My FUNTANA 140S flies way better!!!!... it really seems to be a step backwards!... and I am running it on the same hardware that I ran G2 on... and why won't the new controller work with G2?????
I also notice that when I make the visual scale large, say 300%, the plane will spawn, jump around and hit the prop on the ground and stop.... I feel like this software was released a bit early, or there should be better information for the user!!!!

What version are you running? It is displayed in the G3 launcher. What is your physics quality set to? It is found in the Simulator menu. Click Simulator->Settings->Physics->Airplane Physics Quality. Make sure it is on "highest."
I am running it on the same hardware that I ran G2 on...
What hardware is that? How many frames/second are you getting? (in View->Gadgets->NavGuides)
and why won't the new controller work with G2?????
For the G3 Interlink to serve its intended copy protection function, we had to change the way RealFlight communicates with it. There wasn't a good way to make it backwards compatible. Sorry about that.
