Well....it has happened. I have found software that I can only run on a windoze machine.....the rc sim. So now I need a machine. I don't want a desktop....as this machine will only be used for rc sims, programming my CC speed controllers and playing the occasional game. The way I figure....if using this thing saves me from sending an engine back once for repairs I'm ahead.....I don't get to fly as much as I would like.
What laptop hardware do I need to run G3, AFP and/or XTR with all the eye candy on?

A friend of mine has the Alienware laptop, loaded to the hilt. It runs G3 very nicely. The Alienware laptop he configured was around $4300. You can get a fantastic desktop for that price.
I on the otherhand have a laptop with the ATI Radion Mobile 9000 IGP. G3 runs marginally at best. I updated to the latest G3 beta and when I launched it, it informed me that my integrated video card was not on the supported card list and that some functions would be disabled.
Needless to say, whatever you get, make sure that the video card is supported. I will most likely dump G3 and get Aerofly as they list the ATI Radion Mobile 9000 as a supported card.
