This may have been asked already but is there an "upgrade" for G2 owners to G3? And I'm not talking about the "$200" Real Flight G3 upgrade Great Planes would like you to buy. Most software companys usually provide a cheaper upgrade version for previous owners. Was this not possible or did Real Flight just decide not to go there and have everyone just spend more big bucks? Is the G3 that much better than the G2? I have the G2 and was thinking of getting the G3 but didn't want to spend the money on it and not be happy with it.

G3 is a buggy, undeveloped nightmare that is not as good as G2 and has horrible physics. Sell the G2, and go by AFP, AFPD, or Reflex and you will be much happier.
I bought G2 one month before the release of G3. Before I bought G2 I called GP and was told that there was NO new releases coming out any time soon and G2 was the standard. Literally 1 week after I bought it the G3 product announcement came out.
I was pissed. My guess is that it was a counter to AFPD releasing theirs. Better to ship crap than to ship nothing - that is the KE motto.
I tried a friend's G3, we played with it for a few hours - it was terrible. Worse than G2!
I used the G2 package I bought for a week or two and got bored really fast - it was OK, I'd say very good for beginners or those looking to learn basics - but not so good for experienced pilots or 3D training. I ditched it before I ever registered it and bought AFPD.
My friend sold his 1 week old G3 and bought AFPD after he saw mine!
AFPD is an order of magnitude nicer than G3.
Reflex XTR is a good sim too. IMO, both better than G3.
Ohio Model Products was nothing but honest about everything up front, has been great with service and questions and I give them an A+ for honesty and integrity. I give G3 an F

Thanks desertpig for the feedback. I had heard from a good friend that the G3 wasn't as good as the G2. Guess I'll get the AFPD instead and just sell my G2.
Thanks again,
