Use the G3 controller that came with it.
The G2 controller can be use also - as long as the G3 controller that came with the sim is also plugged in.

You just explained why in you post.
You want to have G3 without paying for it. They want you to pay for it (duh). The controller is an anti-piracy device which seems to be working in your case.
Look, I purchased G3, and then sold G2 on ebay for $135 AND got the $25 mail-in upgrade rebate. So, I essentially paid $40 to upgrade from G2 to G3.

Tell me - where did you get your "G3"?

I Got My G3 from a friend.

He is not using the software, and he broke the G3 controller.

I don't think G3 works with the G2 controller. This is to prevent people from distributing bootlegged copies.

Tell your friend to contact Tech Support about that controller of his. They might be able to fix him up with a new one.
