why is it that if I want a nice glider library for a flight sim I have to buy 5 disks with a bunch of planes I'm not interested in ( power). And then the gliders are rather uninspired. Is there a sim that lets you create your planes? Or am I stuck with the marketing schemes of the manufactures?

Hi kamakasi
Try this its a free FMS 2.8 version d/load http://www.flying-model-simulator.com/main_e.html its about the best free very good model sim you will get, Also check out the forum. It dosent come up to the standard of AFPD, REFLEX, OR G3. But its still a good sim loads of aircraft/loads of good gliders/sceneryd/loads,loads of sites including rc-sim.de check it out see what you think.
go to http://www.rc-sim.de/ then to the down load section, then FMS section FMS version 2.7.x planes and checkout the lighthorse gliders near to scale, thay are very nice.
All fms planes run in the 2.8 version of the fms sim.
wind speed and thermals all work in the sim + winch to get you up and more.
Hope this is somthing in the line of what you are looking for.See examples below.
Regards Dave

Check out rc-sim.de They post all kinds of glider models in the aerofly pro and reflex areas. You could see if you wanted to switch to one of those sims based on the free addon gliders that are available... good luck
