Hi Everyone,
Here's the situation. I bought a sim called Pre-Flight on e-bay but unfortunately it is a bad copy or bad cd and the seller is not responding to my e-mails so I am out $30
I also received a flight sim cable that came with it. But here is the problem. It has a "microphone" interface which will not work with FMS. It only works with Pre-Flight. I need either a USB, Parallel, or PIC-serial port interface for FMS
.
Now, I own a new Futaba EXA transmitter which has the rare square port on the back, not the common round port. The cable I received has the square connector but the microphone for the interface.
So, I am in need of help. Am I able to cut the microphone interface off and simply graft on one of the 3 interface ports that FMS requires? Or will this not work?
If it will not work, then I will have to resort in trying to find a new cable that has both the square connector (for my transmitter) and either a usb, parallel, or pic interface on the other end so it will work with my older windows 98 computer. Do any of you have one for sale, or know where I could get one for cheap?
I really don't care about the pre-flight sim, but I would like to be able to use FMS in the very least, and all I need is a cable. I have everything else and fms works great on my computer with the keyboard, but that doesn't help for true training purposes.
Thanks everyone!!!!
