OK I flew Lego's Slow Ride and I don't feel comfortable with it. So Geoff helped me tweak another version and I would like to get feedback on it.
[link=http://www.aeroflypro.com/slowrideppsgh.zip]Download this zip file[/link].
First off you must have the original Slow Ride PPS from IPACS website installed. Now go choose the SlowRidePPS and then EDIT AIRCRAFT. Now click on SAVE AS and name it slowrideppsgh lowercase just like that. Then hit ok and exit the editor.
Then go into your aircraft directory and add the contents of ZIP file to the ipacs/afpd/aircraft/slowrideppsgh folder.
Then go back into AFPD and look for the slowrideppsgh airplane. Fly both Slow Rides and please provide feedback. I'm not really looking for which is easier to fly ... I'm looking for which one seems more realistic.
Thanks!

Hi!
I like your's and Geoff's best because the pitch is snappier
but I guess Lego's is more realistic
.
I think somewhere between the two would be the most realistic
Here's a link to my video

(Sorry about the rubbish flying but I am just sorting Fraps out so it was a bit jerky[

I agree with you Ian. Although a bipe could be more stable with a PPS system than a mono.
Here is my video of the standed PPS Shocky: [link=http://www.putfile.com/media.php?n=Shoky-4D-PPS]http://www.putfile.com/media.php?n=Shoky-4D-PPS[/link]

HAHA! Don't try to convince yourself you don't want it Ian, because this thing is a hoot!
Well the plane that Lego has to offer is really not that stable ... I just got an email from him and he said it's really close and will prolly explain more soon.
Anyhow here is the video I made. It's on the AFP homepage too. I hope you like it as much as I had making it!

Dion,
Have you tried an upside-down Torque Roll? Its great fun
just pulse the throttle at the lower end and put full aileron in and use eletator to keep it level.
It's easest with the Shocky
.
And Ian you don't know what you're missing!

Greg.
PS. Dion what video capturing software do you use?

Oh I've done lots of inverted torque rolls with AFPD, they are awesome. I'll be making many more videos for sure. It's only been one day!
I use a Sony DVD 201 Camcorder and point it at my screen for all of the videos on the front page of AeroFlyPro.com that are not by Maarten. I shoot them on a Dell 19" FP Monitor. Some turn out better then others, but they get the point across.

Here is what Lego told me when comparing the 2 models. I knew his was more accurate ... makes sense. I guess I'll be hanging on his original version so that when/if I ever get my own I'll be ready!
Hi Dion,
Both versions you sent me are fun to fly! The second one is really extreme!
But compared to reality both react too much on pitch changes. As I said
at RCU, in reality if you change from full throttle forward to full
backward the plane just needs some seconds to follow. It does not stop
emediately, as your two variands do. It is more a soft transition from
forward to backward flight. And in between, while you are already at
full throttle backwards but the plane still moves forward (while
breaking, so to say) the model is allmost uncontrolable but is somehow
stabilized by the propeller moment. You will see, if you have tried a real
pps the first time. It does not follow your throttle input that accurate.

Dietmar
