Default Easyfly TX - PC problem

I have a friend who has a copy of EasyFly Simulator, He has used is sucessfully with his Futaba Skysport TX several times, however - lately he cannot get it working... It keeps saying there is no transmitter founs on the com port or whatever the error message is? I had a look myself, tested the com ports (Both functioning properly) and even installed it on my own computer - still not detecting the transmitter, I tried my JR 3810 TX and still no joy.
I feel it must be something to do with the lead from the PC to the TX, has anyone else had this problem? if so - how did you fix it?

If it is a faulty plug or something to do with the hardware I quess we will have to send it away to the manufacturers to have it checked out..

Any Ideas?
