Purchased G3 from ebay and won't work

I purchased Real Flight G3 off ebay and when I got the package it had the controller, installation disc one and the heli update disc.
My first question is isn't there suppose to be an installation disc two. I emailed the seller and asked this question and they said that there isn't a disc two, and that it installs properly with just disc one. I tried to install it and it comes up with a bunch of errors. I'm not getting anywhere with the seller because Ive sent a couple more emails to them and they still won't admit that there's anything wrong. Is there any chance that Knife Edge software, or Great Planes would be able to send me a Disc Two if there is a second disc.

Hi,
It should have 2 disks. Disk 1 has picture of a plane on it and disk 2 has a helicopter on it.
My disk 1 has the following folders on it ....
Airfoil Database
AUTORUN
Common Files
RealFlight
Recordings
SETUP
and disk 2 ....
AUTORUN
DIRECTX
RealFlight
USB Hotfix
One thing to check ... the heli update is 137 MB if you download it ... how big are the files on the "heli update disc" ?
I'd contact Great Planes (Knife Edge make it, GP distribute it) if you have a controller and you have disk one then you should have the two serial numbers required.

You got the interface and that's the main thing. Some people were selling them on Ebay with out the interface, which means the sim is useless. You should be able to get the software anywhere, just find someone with the software and get them to burn you a copy (the copy rights protection is in the interface, not the software).

I am in fact missing the second disc with the picture of the helicopter, but I don't know anyone with the simulator. I have contacted great planes and have not heard anything back yet.

Yes, I did pay with Paypal, but I want to try to exhaust all other options before I return the product for a refund. Including trying to have ebay mediate a solution. I'm gonna send one more harshly toned email to the seller before I get ebay involved.

Knife Edge/Great Planes have had a few problems with disk compatibility. You could try contacting them and just say that your disk 2 is not working please can you send me another one and here’s my serial numbers to prove I’m legit.

P.S. I speak from personal experience … my disk 2 gives the error mentioned in the thread (I had to copy all the files to another cd and use that to get it to work!)

they're a bit slow with regards to email (3 or 4 days for the simple query I had) you might be better off phoning them.

Things are finally starting to get done. The seller now admits that there is a problem and said "I will go and look for the other cd and over night it to you??" Of course this still doesn't mean that I can trust the seller. Great planes also responded to my email this is what they said,
"For Great Planes to be able to resolve this matter for you, you will need to send G3 Disk #1 and the original CD case for G3.
They said they will not charge me for anything. I'm gonna wait for the seller to respond before I send anything.

Hope you get this resolved! My disk 5 developed some radial cracks around the hub that propagated to the data area of the disk, and Great Planes exchanged it, no questions asked, and did it reasonably quickly.
I did have to send the defective disk to them...that was no problem, I was tired of looking at it! ;-}

egarnaat hey I have the sim, and if needed I can try burning you a copy of the second disc. hopefully you get your problem resolved but if all else fails then send me an e-mail and I will send you a copy of disc 2.
