G4 Talk?

Has any news anywhere been said about Generation 4 of RealFlight coming out? I am about to get G3 and I'd hate to have G4 come out shortly. I have never heard anything about, and updates keep coming for G3, but anything can happen.

I doubt G4 is going to be released anytime soon. They are still working and patching the current one pretty heavy. I don't think KnifeEdge is a large development house. They might have their engine programmers starting in on the next technology but thats going to be a long ways out.

Yea, thats what I was kind of thinking. It looks as though they are patching a lot, and they are not a very big company. I'm sure work on the next has started though.

Zelatio and all,
We just had a big RC event here in Fort Worth, TX where Knife Edge Software (Thats the software company who designed Realflight) had their display running. The first question I asked was "Will you be bring out a G4 version anytime in the future"? Their response (Three people saying this simultaniousley) "NO". Matter of fact they said at this point there may never be a G4. All they paln on doing is upgrading the current G3 via the web and anyone who has it will be able to download free of charge. Right know all they (KES) are trying to do is get their investment out of it. But nothing in the way of a G4 for a very long time.

If memory serves, I got my G3 in October of '04. With all the work and updates on G3 coming hot-and-heavy lately, especially with the new exporter soon to be released, there would be no need to distract customers with another version of RealFlight. Antiproductive. 3D graphics, photofield graphics, and soon, the exporter. That pretty well covers all the bases for a flight sim to be successful.
G4? Naw! G3 rocks!
