Default Correct ATI 9250 display setting for G3

I just purchased a new ATI 9250 graphics card for my G3 but get not get it to work. The ATI 9200 series is on the compatibly list. I installed all drivers and DirectX 9.0. I keep getting black screen.

What is the correct ATI display setting for G3?

My two year old nVIDIA gFORCE 2MX 200 / with 32MB Ram works fine but I wanted better performance but I can not get my new ATI 9250 to work.

My system consis of the following:

Intel Celeron 2.8 GHz
1 GB DDR 3200 Ram
160 HD
ATI 9250 AGP / 128 MB Ram

Any help will be highly appreciated

Thanks

When you took out the GeForce card did you be sure to remove the GeForce drivers completely? And do you have the very latest ATI drivers?

All GeForce drivers completely were removed and ATI drivers were installed. I kept trying different combinations and seems to keep getting closer to work. At one time, I did see the runway then it went black.

Uncheck the box marked custom and restore the default settings. The monitor settings and the display settings should be the same(i.e. 75hz) On G3, other options, set the hardware profile to match the adapter settings, (i.e. 1024x768, 75hz, 32 bit).

Well since you have an agp slot, try the ATI Radeon 9550 256md DDR:

The ATI Radeon 9250 works on G3. In the adapter settings(advanced) set 3D to Direct 3D instead of OpenGL and balanced between performance and quality. Try these less agressive settings and see if they work.
