Default G3 Helicopter Lag

I recently bought G3 mainly for heli's and as soon as the Heli's begin to spool up, the frame rate drops the higher the RPm on teh blades are. No problems with the planes, its just when the blades on the heli's are spinning very fast. When I get into the air though, the framerates start to get better. GeForce 4 Ti 4600, 1.4Ghz P4, 256 RAM
Any Ideas?

I was running G3 on a 1.4. It worked, but there was instances when the frame rate dropped. Collision detection, when I first started to fly. I think it's because your right at the edge that of what G3 needs to run. Bumping memory to 500 may help. I don't remember off hand how much resources it uses. If your flying in a rendered field, try turning a few things off, some trees, benches .

Adding more ram would help. Also try turning your video settings all the way down. The biggest problem is your computer is just getting old.
