Click "Aircraft->Save Color Scheme As." You'll see a message telling you where it created a new tga. Find that tga and edit it, then back in G3 click "Aircraft->Select Color Scheme" and choose your new colorscheme. You can also use the aircraft editor to repeatedly reload the color scheme as you edit it (options menu).
