Do you still need the add ons to download the planes? or can you just import the planes directly in without the addon?

I want a plane from an addon that i dont have.

if you have the new public beta version of G3 version number .423 you do not need to have the add on to download and use a plane. With the beta version I have a giles 202 I am flying that I downloaded. I only have add on 1 which does not come with the giles.

The version is .426, and a new version, .430 has just come out. Right now, with Rick's gone, there are only 3 planes I know of to download.

i have .426 And when i went to the realflight homepage to get a plane I did not have it was not there even when i used the importer[&o]

you DO need addons for the planes on the add-ons. the giles worked because it was custom made on a modelling program.
