For those who haven't heard, Rick Delten has finnished another Extra for G3. It can be found on www.rfmodels.com . For those of you who downloaded it earlier today, that probably wasn't the right version. The way that you can tell which one you have is by the CG. If it's -8.5, you need to remove all traces from your computer and redownload it as it is the wrong version.
Thanks,

I downloaded it 5 minutes before I made the post.
CG is at -6.75 and it flys like a joke.
**EDIT**
On low rates it flys like every plane on AFPD.
Hi rates are cartoonish, though.
Like I said, nothing a few minutes worth of editing can't fix.

Mine is the same way. Crazy in how it just sticks there. I've never been able to hover a plane in G3 for long but this one I can keep it there all day. (Not much of a 3d pilot here. More of a scale pilot)

I got the right version as listed here. I did a little editing and it is alot better to control. I also got the giles and I edited that too. So much more fun I think.

Hope to see it soon. At work right now so I do not get to play with the edits at this time. I need to get G3 loaded onto my PC at work also.
I played with the Giles last night also.
I may have some edting questions for some of you in the near future.
One question is how to get the models to pull the tail up and over to inverted easier. The Red Bull and the Giles do it so effortlessly while the shocky does not. I have tried moving the CG around on the shocky but that only hurts flight performance.
Another question is how to make models more floaty. My little parksized 3 channel cub could use more floaty like physics to better match the foam parky models.

Rat, Email the Cub to me [email protected]. For the shockie, you need to play with the weights of the stab and fin and re-adjust the CG accordingly.

Rick, I've enjoyed your custom planes quite a bit. They are the planes I would have made if I could... but yours are much prettier =)
Problem I'm seeing, and I've heard others say the same, is that they tend to be a little odd in the flight characteristics, (Giles flight model, which I believe some of the Extras share). If I try and lomcevak, it will sit in one place and flip around. Or, basically any extreme movement on high rates has a tendency to make the plane behave a little like a cartoon plane.
Now, I mean for this to be helpful constructive criticism, because like I said I like your work.
Any ideas what kind of mods need to be done?
