Default Modifying a game controller for FMS

I've been playing around with FMS ver2, alpha7 for a few days now. I thought I would try one of the 2 joystick type gamepads since their action is similar to a flight radio. I bought a Saitek P2500 from Wal-Mart. It is usable but I'd like to know if anyone has modified the left stick for throttle control that doesn't jump back to center. I looked inside of this one and the joypots are all one piece. I'm not saying it can't be done but it looks that way so far. So what controllers like this is anyone using? Wouldn't it be great if one of the big game controller companies made an RC controller?

Default RE: Modifying a game controller for FMS

I am also currently using a 2 stick game controller and had wondered the same thing. Thought about a simple rubber band to keep the throttle at idle unless held. But that would get old too after a while. In general, I much prefer using one of my radios with an interface cord, but I found that lots of simulator time= broken return springs on jr421 radio pots ( not gonna risk my old 783 any more). I think it would be cool to modify the game controllers to add stick length also, because they seem much less forgiving than radio/interface cord. Better than nuttin tho.
