I have Tru-Flight and love it. It looks as good as RF G2 or better all day long. It has REAL helis on it. A Futura SE, Futura SS, Millenium II, Nexus, Concept, several scales, a Shuttle, GPH and a few more.
It has pattern ships and a Bretiling Cap and Cubs and trainers for plankers.
The graphics are stunning and it flies better than G2 I think and the program is not even a 10th as big. Here is the kicker, you put the CD in and it runs!!! No 50 thousand updates to load or download. Runs on 95-XP. I run mine in XP. VERY, VERY STABLE. Stable never comes to mind with RF G2. Best part is the cost is less than G2 as well. You use your own TX. Comes with plugs for JR/Fut./Air.
Anyone else using this sim??? I would love for some help setting up the GY 501.
For stunning performance the requirements are on par with G2. However... I have far less video ram than 64 mb and mine runs flawless.

I purchased my program at Toledo last year at the Minature booth, 165 bucks. The guy said the physics were better than any other program for helo's. I had to purchase a new computer to run the program but I knew that going in.
When I got my new computer I spent the next 3 months and lots of emails to england since MAC was not interested in helping me very much. It ended up that the cord that plugs into the back of the puter was bad. It has the copy protection in it so this wasn't something I could go to Radio shack for a replacement.
When I finally got it up and running I spent 2 hours learning to hover nose in and I was hovering my Gas Xcell nose in! It paid for itself in one day of use.
The really neat thing is that you can tailor all the settings to match your own helo and use your TX to learn on.
I have sent MAC multiple emails to get the Xcell # so I can build a copy of my helo but they don't answer.
I am not as impressed with the fixed wing side of the program but my friends like to dink around with it.
In short it is a great program to learn helos on but the stateside product support could stand improvement.

I am a fairly well versed flyer if I do say so, but I can NOT get the gyro set up. The tail will swap ends on me every time in a long tail slide or fast tail first inverted flight. The GY501 is super complicated just like in real life. That is whay I hate Futaba products!!!
Any tips on gyro setup???

I bought mine from a shop in England. Skyline Models. I buy from Bob Johnston, the shop owner all the time. He is great to work with and as you probally know is every bit as good as Curtis. Also I fly Robbe and Bob is Robbe's top man. He also has great prices.
Truflight goes for like $190 over here. From him it is $129 currently. He has a 10% offer on all items through the end of January. If you order before then it will be that price. If not it is only $135. No biggie.
It is http://www.skylinemodels.com
Tell him Norman Ross sent you. Maybe he'll give me some free Robbe parts next time I order from him!!!!! I am in no way tied in with him just so you know.
Take it easy,

Hey, no problem. You just have to know the guy that wrote it. He is just an olf geezer that wears jumpsuits and flies a lazy bee's.
He drools every time my heli spools up. He is just a wanna-be.
I keep telling him that if he takes the Futaba decals off his planes they will fly better. He won't listen he keeps on crashing<G>. His son crashed last week due to a Futaba switch on a Hobbico trainer. :stupid:
See you at the field,

The Futaba switch is fine. One piece of JR equipment...the battery. Went from 6 volts to 0 volts in 3 flights. Should have known better than to use something from the polarity impaired group.
Where was Mr. JR Sat.? Futaba's flying all over the place! The Super Sportster is almost ready. I painted one up in G2 to match how I'm going to cover it. Looks cool. Can you do custom color in True grit....true fright......whatever?

What are you talking about Saturday???? It blew like a hurricane. 25mph gusts. And yes, I went out to the field and it was just me and dad. I flew the Conquest once in fact. Dad wasn't going to fly and it was getting colder so we packed up and went home. No one else to be found. A heli was difficult a plane would next to impossible.
You can not edit models in True-flight. It concetrates more on the actualy SIMULATION. There is a new idea. Nah... I liked your G2. TF is only one CD and was written by a heli flyer and it is a real heli simulator, like G2 is a plank sim that they added helis to as an after thought. Ever heard of a "Spoiler 60" heli like on G2??? Well neither have I cause it is just a made up model. TF has my Futura SE on it. And real helis that look like the real thing and fly like them too.
I fly planes, but when push come to shove you can take every plane I own, but you will have to fight me for my helis.
TF doesn't shine in planks, it does in helis and that is why I bought it. It was written for serious heli flyers and is advertised only in heli mags. However, Dad loves flying the Ccp 232 on it. It is in the Bretiling scheme and looks great.
Dad's Tiger 60 will be ready by the end of this year
I don't care WHAT it says on the label on RX packs I cycle them several times and watch them carefully before they ever get put in a model. I have had too many bad ones. Knock on wood, one hasn't died in the air yet.

Read the GY501 manual, it is somewhat complex indeed but with the manual it's ok. I can send the manual if you need it but I think you can find it on the web anyway.

Yes you can...if i remember correctly...the textures are a standard image format if you look for them in the directories and can be 'adjusted'!!!
As far as true flight with model aircraft goes i would stick to FMS!!
The version i had you couldnt hover 'em!!!!
