Default custom planes for g3?

is there anyone who knows how to make there own planes for g3? and if so anyway to share them with me? i was just curious, i would like to see different colors as well, or planes modeled after something thats not already on there, like for instance the extreme flight extra electric, or a funtana, composite arf extra, anything different than whats there, i have the add ons just wondering if its even possible to do such a thing..

that was a gift from my wife, a half hour flight in a at6, th guys name is keven keagan(not sure on spelling), but he has 2 and goes around the country for a month or 2 in each place and flies people around, it was awesome, he let me do loops and rolls, very cool, plus he makes a video of the flight from 3 different cameras he had mounted on the plane, really cool

i found some g3 planes and got them working, do you know how to get the different paint schemes loaded?, i emailed the site but cant figure it out yet, thanks again, cool stuff

It's really easy in G3.

The easiest way is to start with a paintjob that's in a .tga file. You go into G3 to that airplane and select it to fly. Then go up to the AIRCRAFT menu and click on the SAVE COLOR SCHEME AS choice. Give it the name you plan to use for the new paintjob.

That will create a .tga file for you in the G3 folder COLOR SCHEMES with the name you used.

You simply take the new scheme you downloaded as a .tga and copy the tga over the one that's sitting in G3's folder. The one sitting in the G3 folder will have the name yous chose doing the SAVE COLOR SCHEME AS step. You'll nave to rename the downloaded tga to match what's in the G3 folder.

G3 will have created a new aircraft when you did the SAVE COLOR SCHEME deal, and it had the old paintjob. All that would have been created in the COLOR SCHEMES folder. You're simply overwriting the paint file that G3 created. You've used G3's functionality to create an new airplane from an old one, and to overlay the old paint with new. And all you need is a .tga with the new paintjob.

There's another way to do what I just described.

If the paintjob you've downloaded has a name that you can live with, then when you do the SAVE COLOR SCHEME AS step, use that download's name for the name of your new color scheme.

Then when you copy the downloaded tga file over the existing one, you won't have to correct the file name.

you need to update to at least the .426 update and import the .g3x files into G3. It's really simple. If you can't figure that out, there's plenty of help on the Knifeedge site.

i got alot of them to work, but a few color shcemes still arent right...
but i have a question, some say the planes on real flight are supposed to be somewhat true to life flight characteristics, is that so with these big 40% extras?? anyone have a big extra and the simulator and see any resemblence? i just ask because i LOVE some of these 40%'ers i downloaded, they are amazing, and if that is even half as good as they really are then i need to start saving some money

Which ones? Some of the early ones are pathetic. The JN and the OC are pretty good from the reviews I've heard though.

the red bull one is pretty cool, the patty wagstaff one aint bad, i dont think i got one i dont like, but the red bull is one of my favorites, and there is a 73" quiquey yak, i know i didn spell that right, but that thing rocks too, i had the ef yak68" and loved it, but it didnt fly like that one does on the sim, i dont know if it really doesin life, but on the sim its great, but the big extra is what i was wondering about, just because i havent seen one in my club yet, and the sim it rocks...

The Red bull itn't very realistic from what I've been told, however the Patty Wagstaff is.

i actually like the stock Yak 54 (3d throws and surfaces) with the right amount of expo, it's darn near perfect.

the only other plane i like is 50% Edge that was just released not too long ago, those are pretty much all i fly on G3.

i do like to fly some of the other edits people made, just for a laugh. they say how they fly just like 40%ers, lawl haha rofl lmao

if my big yak flew like that, id sell it in a heartbeat.[8D]

i fly that yak alot too, i did get the 73" qq one someone made, it flies beautiful on the sim, too well i think, if i could really fly it in person like on the pc, then i would start entering shootouts it juts seems to good to be true on some of the bigger planes...
