I spoke too soon! The radio shack unit works with the Gameport socket on the contorller supplied with RF G2. It sells for $17.

Thanks to the info you gave me last night I went to Radio Shack today and bought one, I now can fly the Ripmax simm with a joy stick. I'm now convinced that this simm is the one I need for my laptop as I don't think I can run Real Flight. Lee
