By "remote" are you referring to the controller?

The controller actually is the identifying hardware that tells the pc what's connected as well as being a simulated model airplane radio transmitter. It is both the USB connector and your TX. It also works as a dongle. Yeah, what a name, "dongle". But that's the term used in the pc world to identify a thing that you have to have in order for a software package to work. A dongle is piracy protection. You can copy the CD and make a billion copies, but without the dongle, all you got is CD copies. You have to buy the dongle to get the simulator. That defeats the software pirates. And you need a TX to fly the simulator, so one comes in the box.

The application has the added benefit that someone who is interested in trying out RC can do so without having to invest in radio equipment, airplane, and support equipment. Of course, if you've already got the radio stuff, you can also plug your TX into the G3 controller, which will then interface to the pc.

The answer is no.

Other sims such as AFPD give you the alternative of getting a package with a USB dongle that interfaces to your tx, saving you about 20 to 30 bucks, thats the way I went, but it looks like G3 only has the USB controller[]

for g3 the transmitter is the dongle. It also comes with all the cables needed to connect to pretty much any TX out there. When using the G3 replica in that senario it's the same as the other simulators. Personally I don't like to hook my real TX up to my computer but that's me.

You can save a few bucks with the right order codes..

LW4883 is the code for G3 with a $25 gift certificate..
Right now ordering g3 gets you free shipping.
add the current $20 off $150 and the price shipped to your door is $179 plus you get a $25 gift cert.

sign up for the promotion emails and you should get a $20 off $50 order code.

use that with the gift cert and get a $50 order for $5 plus shipping.
