I started with realflight G2 and its fine but then G3 came on the market but I didnt like the fact it was less than a year old and they wouldnt do much for me and I had to buy the g3 as a complete package so I so nuts to them and went to aerofly deluxe..one good feature I love about AFPD is you can add models for "FREE".and the models at RC-sims is awesome.I wont go negative on G3 either as they seem very close a major improvement from G2.I was able to use my game transmitter I got with the old G2 and use it with AFPD ..and similarly I was able to use my futaba radio as well .just remember with your real transmitter you are using up your battery ....... as far as I can see either one is good just go with what ever floats your boat.and practice practic practice..

G3 has hundreds of free planes available.....

I agree with you again Alma.[X(] lol

When FS one comes out there will be lovers and haters.
When the new AFPD comes out there will be lovers and haters.
When the new G4(if there is such a thing yet) comes out, there will be lovers and haters.

Phoenix-Sim looks to be only plugged by trolls IMO. I don't trust it.
Clearview is pathetic.

Threadstarter,
Stick to the big names and you'll be fine. I love G3 and most of what was said in this thread about G3 is completely wrong and was written by those who don't fly it. AFPD is a good sim, I can't wait to see the new AFPD coming out though.(It'll probably be way better than G3) FS One isn't out yet and I wouldn't buy it blindly.

Are you saying that ADPD comming out with a new version soon or are you saying that when (sometime in the future) they come out with one...? I've just personally not heard. I wouldn't want to buy AFPD if there is going to be a new version next month.

According to STLPilot, he has flown the new AFPD. He said this on Friday or saturday on www.flyinggiants.com on the live webcast of the DOGS show. So, I assume that there IS IN FACT a new AFPD coming, and if it's better than G3 I'll probably get it. However, I will keep G3 because of the huge multiplayer family.(you can't beat knowing these folks)

Well I just had a quick check with Hans of IPACS, and there's no new version of AFPD on the horizon yet, though they're working on it. There was a new AFPD patch released recently, and a new low cost sim (EasyFly2), but no new AFPD.
