From: Gig Harbor,
WA,
Heartily agree with the advice to get the full version. I recently bought the G2 Lite. It is too expensive to upgrade, but would have been cheap (comparatively) to spring for the G2.
I would like the capability to add user-supplied aircraft files, modify paint trim on models, and modify the airports.

Shucks, i already ordered the Lite version, is the realism any different than the full version? Other than the options of changing scenery and building custom aircrafts etc. Is the basic realism just as good and as far as the heli's, am I later going to be able to practice 3D? I understand that I'm not going to be able to customize my equipment like gyro and weight, dimensions etc. but will the 2 heli's that come with the G2 Lite be sufficient for learning basic flight to introductory 3D? Thanks

I think the lite version comes with the trainer and something else. Not sure how 3D capable they will be. I can just say that the full version is well worth the money. I have noticed that everything I encountered in the sim was right on with the actual thing. I needed to be able to factor in certain amounts of wind(living in Oklahoma) so that was my main reason that I went with the full version. At any rate you should still be satisfied.

I just got my G2 Lite and it is great. It does only have 2 heli's and is limited in customizing aircrafts but it definitely has the realism, I am very happy with it and yes, you can do 3D with both heli's although the Jet Ranger's not really made for it lol. but the trainer heli is definitely 3D capable, so it is great for practicing some 3D moves and like Olderndirt mentioned, it also has wind adjustability so it has everything you need. In my opinion, yes the "lite" version is definitely worth it, if you think you'll be getting really serious into heli's, it might be worth the extra $70 or so for the full G2, but if you want to learn how to fly heli's or planes and even for 3D practice the lite version is definitely great and worth the savings.
