Default Export Models in the flight simulator

Has anyone try to export the 3D models in the flight simulation programs to create cross sections in order to design and build a RC Plane? Is this possible?

Thanks!

If you are talking about FMS then you will find that the free design program you can use to build planes, Metasequoia, has an "output to DXF" option so it looks like you could design planes in that and fly them in FMS then output them to CAD plans and build the physical model.

(never actually tried this myself mind you!)
