Default FMS Help?

What is your Tx plugged into, i.e. what interface/adaptor, where from ? What operating system is your PC running ? Have you tried it with a standard joystick ?

Need more information.

there is not even a "start" icon or button to hit..I imagine this may be because I havent installed the tx by not hitting the finish button, but I can't get the tx to react so theres no need to click the finish button........Rog

I guess your I/f didn't come with instructions.

Under Controls you should have an "Analog Control" option. Under there you need to select one of the "Parallel/serial IRQ" options (16 bit usually works with anything). You then need to set Resources to your port LPT1 then go into Mapping/calibration and hit calibrate. You should see the the blue bars moving when you move the Tx sticks. Follow the instructions and it should work. You may need to change the channel settings on the left of the Mapping /Calibrate screen to get the controls on the correct sticks.

There isn't a Start button. It just starts up when you apply throttle.

thanks Steve , the cd had instructions in adobe/acrobat and I followed them to the letter, I went into resources like you said and matched up my ltp1 like you said and I thought thats it! but no good .. and I did find out when I went through the keyboard that once you pick a model and hit the gas it starts, thanks, it looked like what you said would work maybe I will uninstall it and try the whole thing over with these settings later on, for now its close to bed time.........thank you for your help Steve,,, Rog
flying on key board is no fun at all.. plus the #'s dont match the operation... ie elevator is supposed to be 8 for up and 2 for down but it is a zoom camera and 8 is close and 2 is farther away. that'll screw up your flying the first few times..Rog

Errr.....transmitter fully charged and you are switching it on I suppose ? When you get into the mapping/calibration screen and click the calibrate button what happens ? Anything move ?

Please provide details of exactly what you tried and what you saw. I get fed up with typing out detailed instructions only to be told "Oh I've done all that".

Default FMS Help?

umm well Steve ,yes tx charged, on,have tried all of the options interface,pic,16 bit, 32 bit, with absolutely NO movement of the blue graph with the tx sticks (or without),,again in my other post I have done what you said and thought ah-ha I got it so I unistalled and reinstalled turned off puter, turn on puter plugged in TX interface ,turn on TX clicked on analog control (as per instructions) but nothing,, so I have been watching capt Jims problem so I plugged in my printer (which I havent plugged in for months) and it will not come on and when I try to print it says theres no paper in it (there is) and I think I may call someone local for some help, I can use the keyboard but it is not helping as a sim like that, and not much fun either... Rog

Sounds a lot like either the printer port or the interface is simply not working. About the only thing left to do is try the interface on a different computer.

try running through my basic troubleshooting section. i think the guy you bought it from also has online help. you probably need to change the parallel mode in your bios to ECP, or EPP and try it.

http://fms1.mattclement.com

look under troubleshooting, and thanks for emailing me about helping you out. you might also hit the guy you bought it from up for help.

Default FMS Help?

Oh, during the ice storm of 12-04-02 when the power came back on it came through the house at 400 volts and took out the power supply in my puter, and a host of other appliances, fridge, microwave, cable box, woodsove...etc
I had it reapaired but I took the printer off way before that because I never printed anything....Rog

Like Buckeyes1997 said, check your bios. You will probably have three choices EPP, ECP and EPP/ECP. try them all one at a time (make sure the port is also enabled), both with your printer and then FMS.
If you can't get your printer to work then I would guess your port was fried during your power fiasco.
If you think this is your problem then you can always get an add on card with a printer port for around $25 - $30. But before you run out and buy a card you may first want to try your cable and radio on another computer just to make sure it works.

Good luck.
