Default Real Flight Simulator

I want to puchase the Real Flight Ge-2 Lite Simulator. But am not sure if my lap top computer will meet the requirements. I am giving below the specifications of my computer and would appreciate hearing from you.
Mobile ThinkPad iSeries (XU
Pentium III
Memory 64MB
Disc Capacity 20GB
Graphic subsystem; Trident CyberBlade Aladdin i1 8MB
Audio Chip: Ali chip set M1535
Dire -X 8
CD-ROM: CD-RW 8X

If it does not meet the requirements , please let met know if the is any external add on that will upgrade it for the simulator.

Also please let me know if the Simulator program can be used with PlatStation 2 or Gamecube? If yes, would it need any additional hadware?

Your response would be highly appreciated.

Graphic chip may be too slow and its drivers implementation of DirectX may be too buggy (resulting in image artifacs). The amount of memory may be a bit too little.

You can test your laptop my installing and running freeware FMS. If FMS looks good and the frame rate is acceptable, RealFlight will be ok too.

Rani,

I can't speak for your laptop, but I've run G2 on my laptop and it runs like garbage relative to the performance I get on my desktop system. On the laptop, 1024x768 resolution is max and G2 runs jerky. It's so bad that I literally cannot hover a heli. Planes are flyable, but poor. On my desktop system I run at 1600 x 1200 resolution with smooth performance.

My recommendation: Don't plan on running G2 on your laptop. You will not be happy with it. Even if the video works OK, which I doubt, the screen is too small to get good resolution.

Dan

Desktop system:
Pentium III 650 MHZ
380 MB RAM
NVidia GeForce 3 TI-200 64 MB Video RAM
Hard drive: 36G 10K RPM.

My laptop specs:
Processor: AMD® Athlon™ processor 1.2GHz
Memory: 256MB, expandable to 512MB
Hard Drive: 20GB
CD-ROM Drive: 24X max.
Display: 14.1" TFT XGA
Graphics: 4X AGP with VIA ProSavage KN133 graphics
Video Memory: 16MB

Default Thanks

Thanks for the detailed specifications you supplied for getting a good quality resolution. I will take your advice.

Just for fun a friend of mine is going to load his g2 in to my laptop. I will post the results soon.
