Can anyone recommend a LHS to buy the Phoenix Sim in London.
They seem to be about 80 pounds on the internet, are the LHS prices the same.
Is there a online store with an address you can WALK IN to buy cash.
Any info or links would be appreciated.
Cheers

Thanks for the reply.
So you bought direct online from Phoenix. Im staying in a Hotel so they may not be willing to send it there. Ive emailed them.
It appears the cost 79.95 pounds, does NOT include a cable for the Tx and this must be purchased separately. (another 9 pounds for the Square Futaba). Is that correct. Seems a bit strange they wouldnt include a Tx plug of your choice. How else could you use the sim.
How are you finding the Sim. As good as you expected. Have you used any others.
Cheers

Yeah, if you can get it.
Ive searched the internet trying to find a shop in London that sells it. I cannot find one online and its developed in the UK I believe.
Sent an email to Phoenix directly. They replied saying they had forwarded my request for info to skylines models.
I also sent directly to skylines models at the same time. Got an autoreply from them saying they will get back to me.
Still havnt heard. It may be more difficult to buy the Sim in the London than I thought.
Reflex would be my second choice but I heard its been updated and a new dongle, not compatable with the old. So will need to wait until its out.

FYI: I bought mine from skyline models from within Australia (I assume you're from this side of the planet), shipping was around 15 pounds I recall - still worked out cheaper than the local selling XTR etc, even with the cheap transmitter they were bundling with it...
It passed through customs without a hitch - YMMV

Couldnt you get Phoenix in Aus either. Are they in the Aus shops now.
Its been 5 days with no reply from skyline models. Ive just emailed them again (and phoenix) so lets see if they reply this time.
Thanks.

Not sure if you can get it in OZ, I have not looked (don't need two copies
). The Aus/NZ distributor was appointed only recently, so I don't know if it has filtered through yet.

Note that ordering from OZ means you don't pay the VAT, so you get it for roughly the retail UK price, assuming it gets cleanly through customs. But I guess you can get a VAT refund in the UK?
Good luck hunting

Thanks.
Hey I didnt realise it was Easter this weekend (im living in Asia) that may be the delay. Im off to London tonight, (for 5 weeks)so no point trying to get it sent to me in Asia. Would rather pick up a copy in London (if at all possible). I believe I can get the VAT (or some of it) back when I leave. Havnt tried that before.
Anyway how are you finding Phoenix. As good as you expected. Did you ever try Reflex XTR.
Cheers

What is the closet underground station to skyline models. Or are they further out than that.
Im living in a Hotel for 5 weeks, so would like something to keep me sane.
Ive emailed them to see if they can send it to the Hotel im staying at near Heathrow.
Cheers.

Skyline are about 10mins driving from the nearest mainline station (High Wycombe, 45-60mins from Marylebone), unfortunately the tube stops long before you get there
I'd phone them on Tuesday, the guys are all friendly, and you'll get a much faster turn around

Iceman,
Thanks for the info.
Shame theyre a bit far out. Probably not worth going there in person. The taxi fare in pounds would kill any benefit.
Ill ring them Tues. lets hope they can mail it. Not sure though as they say they will not even send to PO boxes.
Cheers.

Nice spot. Very close to where you live. Not bad considering your in SYD. Thought you would have to drive miles to the nearest field. (In the traffic).
It appears in the photo you have 6 windsocks in the middle of the field. (the yellow things casting a shadow). You wouldnt want to fly into one of them. Or what are they.
Anyway great spot close to home.
Beats the patch of dirt I fly off.
Cheers.
