Default Ikarus Flight Sim

SPENT THIS WEEKEND PAST AT THE WRAM SHOW IN WHITEPLAINS NEW YORK.
ONE OF THE MANY HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SHOW WAS THE NEW FLIGHT SIMULATOR FROM IKARUS USA.

THE GRAPHICS ARE JUST ABOUT THE BEST I HAVE SEEN AND THE FLIGHT PHYICS ARE THE BEST. GREAT 3-D AEROBATICS THIS FLIGHT SIM IS THE BEST I HAVE SEEN AND FLOWN. WISH I HAD TAKEN PICTURES OF THE HUGH CROWD AROUND THE IKARUS USA BOOTH ALL WEEKEND.

THE SIM IS AEROFLY PROFESSIONAL AND HAS MANY PLANES HELIS AND SAIL PLANES. THERE ARE NUMEROUS FLYING SITES ALSO

CAN'T WAIT FOR THE BIG BROWN AIRPLANES TRUCK TO DELIVER MY COPY OF AEROFLY PROFESSIONAL.

I agree. That sim rocks! I was there on Sunday, and played with Rolland's TOC machine. There was always a line. I especially like the fact that you can touch certain parts of the airplane to the ground and not have it automatically crash. Crashes themselves are really cool, the plane or helicopter disintegrates beautifully. One guy flew it into a bush and ripped the wings off. The touching abbility made tail touches look very realisitic and inverted rudder bumps were possible. I am so getting this sim.

TO
JOHNNYLIGHTNING AND CODY,

THE WEB ADDRESS FOR IKARUS IS
WWW.IKARUS-USA.COM

THE CONTROLLER THAT IS INCLUDED WITH THE SIM IS A TRANSMITTER TYPE CONTROLLER SIMILAR IN DESIGN AS YOUR RC TRANSMITTER. THE FEEL OF THE CONTROLLER IS GOOD. I DON'T THINK YOU WILL HAVE ANY COMPLAINTS WITH THE CONTROLLER WHICH IKARUS CALLS A GAME COMMANDER. I CAN'T GET OVER THE DESIGNATION GAME COMMANDER BECAUSE THE SIM IS FAR FROM A GAME.

I FOUND THE SIM TO BE VERY REALISTIC AND THE PARAMETERS CAN BE CHANGED TO MAKE YOUR PLANES HARD OR EASY TO FLY AND LAND.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS CALL IKARUS, I FOUND THE PEOPLE WERE FRIENDLY AND HELPFULL.

POJI

IKARUS DOES NOT MAKE A CONNECTOR FOR THE FUTABA 9C TRANSMITTER. YOU CAN HOWEVER PURCHASE A BUDDY CORD FOR THE 9C AND THEN MATE THE CABLE FROM AEROFLY PRO AND THE BUDDY CORD TOGETHER WITH A FEMALE TO FEMALE DIN CONNECTOR PURCHASED FROM A LOCAL ELECTRONICS SUPPLY STORE OR MAIL ORDER FROM AN ELECTRONICS SOURCE.

I was also at the WRAM show and got a chance to play with the Ikarus flight sim. First let me say I have owned Realflight Original for two years and then bought the upgrade and have had that for 2 years now. I spent 10 minutes flying the Ikarus and bought it on the spot. The 3d physics are far superior to G2 and finally I can practice realistically with a flight sim!

Default Help! Ikarus Game Commander/USB

Is anybody using the game commander with their sim? The commander has a 15 pin plug and my CPU is USB. I called Ikarus and rep said that I need to get an adaptor, however, I can't seem to find the adaptor anywhere. Comp USA, Radio Shack, Best Buy, Tigerdirect.com, no one's got it. What are you guys doing to resolve this problem? Do I need a new (old) game card?

BTW, I used my JR8103 Tx w/ interface cable so at least I was able to try it out (stayed up all night). I don't know much about RealFlight G-2 and I've never owned a flight sim before, but I think I'm glad that I waited. This sim seems so realistic and true, not to mention the graphics. I also added the expansions pack, and Rolland Matts Extra is beautiful. Oh, and the Hype 3-D is ballistic"outta-control"! I just got it last night so I'm still messin' w/ it. But from what I've gathered, I can see that I'll be spending alot less time burning fuel.

Will the Ikarus work with a dave brown control box? Or should I get the cable and hook it directly to my JR radio? Thanks John

Default captinjohn,

the sim will not work w/out the interface cable. When program is loaded/started it searches for the cable and if it is not connected the software will not open. The basic, stock interface cable that comes w/ the program will, however, work flawlessly w/ your JR transmitter.

HI
I just received my Ikarus Aerofly Professional today, my computer has no gameport, I also purchased the game commander. Has anyone purchased the adapter for the gameport to the 25 pin comport?
Also can I hook up the Game commander up to the USB ports?

Thanks

whidbey1, from what I understand, the game commander can actually be used on a USB, but you have to find a 15 pin to USB adaptor (good luck). The only other solution is to purchase and install a sound card w/ a 15 pin port (many are available and make sure that it is compatible w/ software), but your existing sound card must be dissabled in order to activate the newly installed sound card.

lennyk, a Reaflight controller will not work with Aerofly. Even if you have the Aerofly interface cable hooked up and the Reaflight controller in a USB, it still won't work.

Where did you buy it from ?

Do you have to use your transmitter box with it
or does it come with its own box like Realflight ?

I have emailed them but gotten no response.
