I have just bought a JSIM USB interface for my RC.
It works fine with FMS but Pre Flight does not work.
I selected Keyboard + Joystick but when I go to calibrate nothing moves?

Pre-flight looks a little wierd when you're calibrateing it. You have to prerss Test button to actually see the bar movement.
Also, are you aware of the strange, to say the least, joystick channel numbers? Also, the "rev" checkbox doesn't seem to change the bar movement, even though it works properly.
Look for my PRE-Flight set up hints at the bottom of this page:

I have managed to get pre flight to recognise my joystick interface and can calibrate it OK.
unforchanatly when I try to fly an helicopter I cannot stop the tail from spinning.
On my real model the tail pitch / speed alters with the throttle to keep it streight.
how do I set the software up to compensate.

Hi,
I've got EXACTLY the same combination as you (JSIM USB and PreFlight) and while I found that the interface worked fine with FMS it took me AGES to work out how to get it to work with Pre-Flight.
For some strange reason, while FMS sees aileron, elevator, throttle, rudder on the obvious channels 1,2,3,4 in Pre-Flight it's channels 1,2,6,7

No, not really. It's true that the tail in PreFlight has more inertia than in FMS but this actually reflects reality a bit closer anyway.
