Hey guys, my name is dave and i am 15 years old. i got into rc planes about 6 months agao and half flown a 3-channel pusher and i am currently flying a brushless Multiplex Minimag. i have just started work and would like to buy a simulator and i would much rather get Fs one because i can use my jr x2610 and not get the hanger 9 tx and here in australia that works out to be $110 cheaper. i dont really care of it isnt the best sim out there i just want to know if it is a good sim and is realistic.

I have had FS One since December, and I have used G3 in the past. I cant speak about G3.5 but I prefer FS One because I personaly find it to be more realistic in the way the planes fly. The H-9 Ultrastick and Twist in FS One fly exactly like my own planes, where I found that my Great Planes Sacewalker flys great but is nowhere near as easy to fly in real life as the G3 Spacewalker. One of the comments made by another person on an FS One forum stated that he can hover all day long on G3.5 but not with his own planes. He got FS One and says that he has as much trouble hovering on it as he does in real life. I really like FS One and the gaphics are realy quite good if you have a desent computer. But thats just my opinion

Patches are usually issued by the software mfg to improve what they either released originally or screwed up with previous patches. So do not assume they're anything or not really of much importance. Some are downright necessary sometimes. And you'll never know from just reading about them.
Sometimes they're also necessary to keep up with changes in our computer environment. They may only be necessary for example for people who've just bought a pc with the Vista operating system. Or they might be corrections of originally released code that didn't work with one specific video card or somesuch. Software developers often release for a deadline with one or two specific strings untied.

You're not really different from beginners. They do need an instructor, and don't need a sim at all. It helps and can help a lot. But isn't needed at all if they got a good instructor.
So you want to learn to do a flatspin? or 3D? or any maneuver you don't know, and want a red reset button to clean up the crash site? Sims save you money that way. Even if you know how to do all the other stuff.
I like to fly my sim evenings or rainy days. But then it's dark or raining. And a buddy who can only fly on Saturdays and no other days, flies his sim on rainy or high-wind Saturdays. He says it keeps him from kicking his dog.
