I thought this might be useful information to those who haven't realized this. In Real Flight G3.5 (and probably the other sims, too) you aren't actually flying "outside". In reality, you are flying inside of a giant dome. And that giant dome has a picture of the sky painted on its inner surface. When your plane reaches this "dome" it will continue to "fly" and respond to directional commands... but will not actually move forward at all (i.e. it is "pushing against the inside of the dome"). This is why you may notice some odd things, such as the plane taking much longer to fly away from you than to return too you. In this situation, you weren't actually "flying away from yourself" during part of the time you thought you were, you were just pushing up against the dome for a while.
As long as you keep your plane within a realistic distance you will not encounter artifacts of this aspect of the flight sim. But any time you "go really far away", that is just an illusion and you are actually sitting still in mid air for the latter portion of your "distant flight".
I just thought some might appreciate understanding this issue that they have probably noticed by-products of in the past.
