Default RF G3 or Phoenix with E-Flite Transmitter ?

Hi

hope there is someone out there who can help me.

I' currently owning a Blade CX2 from E-Flite and waiting for getting the Blade 400 which comes with a Spectrum DX6i transmitter. Now while waiting for the 400 to arrive, I want to get a sim for practicing and I especially want to train using my own transmitter.

I visited a friend who owns the Reflex and AFPD sims and tried both. Interesting enough, the transmitter of the Blade CX2 worked well with AFPD but not with the Reflex sim. Both worked with the same cable (the jack looks like the jack from a stereo headset) with the transmitter of my friend.

How can I find out if my transmitter also works with Realflight or Phoenix (the two sims I am currently looking at)? Any experience ?

thanks a lot in advance

consider the Phoenix sim because your CX2 will plug
straight into the phoenix adaptor and comes with some
of the most realistic 400 class helis available.
there is even a CX2 model available for download
and the value for money cant be beat

I have recently bought the Phoenix having previously owned the Reflex XTR, to me the Phoenix is streets ahead in all ways.
It is also configured for all Spektrum Tx's

Hi,

I had a question similar so I sent Phoenix support an email:

Subject: Controller

Hi,

I read that a controller for Phoenix may be coming out in a few weeks.
Is this true? and if yes, could you notify me when it is available.

Also, can the RealFlight G4 controller be used with Phoenix?

Thank you.

Hi Clark

Unfortunately at the present time we have no concrete information on availability of a controller for Phoenix.

The Realflight G4 controller (and other similar USB controller units) are not compatible with Phoenix, though we do support almost all popular makes of transmitter - a full list of which can be found here: www.phoenix-sim.com/support.htm

Best Regards

PhoenixRC Support

Hi Psindrup,

I am glad the controller that came with your "CX2" Helicopter? is working well with Phoenix.
Unfortunately I do not have a CX2 or its controller.
Still, your reply will be helpful to people that do have that controller.

aaah... sounds like you shelled out on realflites latest version,
but the disapointment has led you to try phoenix ?
i think thats a good decision - have a look at www.phoenix-sim.com
for FREE upgrades, models and new sceneries - including stone henge
released a couple of weeks ago.

if you only have the G4 dummy stick box, and own no alternative,
might i suggest a model to get you started ?

let me know if i can help

Mike

merry xmas!!

Hi Mike,

So what model do you suggest? assuming that it is a dummy usb type?

No, I have not yet purchased Phoenix. Albeit I seem foolish enough to do so when I once again have sufficient funding!
For now employment and/or more creative inspirations will hopefully help to encourage a good income flow.
Getting up in years may be taking its toll upon employers eagerness to hire one such as I!

Ranting along, it seems people tend to think that once you are over 50 and have gray or graying hair you must have the ability to work for free just for entertainment!
I wish. Oh well.

Merry Xmas

P.S. Don't you just hate it when what you've written or said comes back to bite you? [:-]
