yeah it's call FMS.
you just have to install the d3drm.dll file into the window system32 or system folder.
Depending what vedio driver you have ...nvivia will cuase a flashing screen. Trun off the texture and you get pac man texture.
If you have a powerful enough drive..i figure out to make that go away also.
Vista being a memory hog..512 of ram is barely enough for vista to run and support any other software.
Even at 1 G i get a slight stick with other flight sim such as G-3 or Reflex.
Reflex has a demo you can try,,however i can't get the control to work
Reflex has pixel option to render smaller size pixel
You can also install Virtaul PC in Vista then run XP in it. Obviouly MS knew there was a glitch with many other software.
Newer PC with XP with only USB ports will cause FMS 2.8 to error or won't load.
However it has been resolved. You just have to look in the FMS site
you can try Preflight Demo. It has unlimited time but only 2 channels will work via TX and the other 2 via keyboard.
Adjust the sim timing to get it running smoother or load a different model. Play that thing until you get tired
of only the two channel then pay $40.lol There's cool quick editing features that preflight has the FMS dosen't.
In the FMS you have to do everything manually.
Clearview has a 60 min demo, However it took me 60 mins to figure out how to set up the control.lol
Works pretty good in my Vista..However...I can see black flashing lines of the borders of the skybox images.
Not too noticeable , but once i see it...I will always see it . It distrub me.
I think it can be easily fixed by over laping the images with a couple of pixels...2050x1026..instead of 2048x1024.
The skybox files which i don't access to. I don't work for Clearveiw.
Just like the G-3 in my system, It sticks every so often for a milli sec. Not too noticeable.
But once I notice it...I'll always notice it..lol
Yes shop around to see what will work in you system
Buy another PC that i just purchase to be able to run a newly release sim ??? I don't think so.
