What sort of cable to do you have? I have a PIC based cable and have no problems.
If you are using the parallel cable, then there is no way to get it working. It is due to the way that w2k (Nt4, W2k & XP) handle the hardware that prevent it.
I have also had no luck getting the Serial cable working.
After having spent lots on trying to make cables (about 5 attempts!) I gave up and purchased a PIC cable from someone here in Aust.

i just ordered a serial cable that they claim to work with 2000, NT & XP. I dont know what happens next. I'll wait for a couple of days, meanwhile I guess I'll just have to try to fly my heli without any Sim time. Wish me luck.

Unzip the archive and execute
allowio Application.exe /a
where 'Application.exe' is the name of FMS executable file.
I've never tried it with FMS, but it works with other applications that use the parallel port in the 'Win9x' manner.
Good luck,
slavik
P.S. more about PortTalk driver can be found here: http://www.beyondlogic.org/porttalk/porttalk.htm

I have a game pad that I want to use with FMS, and I don't know how. I've gone in and changed the channels for the game pad, but I can't get the program to use it. It will only use the keyboard. Anybody else have this problem, or know how to fix it?
Thanks for the help.

I built an audio cable that connects my radio to the sound card. The cable was easy to build and did not need any resisters or transistors. Then I had to change one of the files that comes with FMS.
I do not remember all of the details and you could do a search on the web to find the instructions.
I am sure that I have the informaiton somewhere if you cannot find it.
