Been flying my G2 sim when all of the sudden the throttle stick will no longer go all the way down. It gets about 1/2 way down and gets spongy like something is caught. When you let it go it goes back up to 1/2 throttle.
Called Great Planes they said sure we can help you you regestered your product. Send us 50 bucks and we will send you a new controller.
I have not even had this thing that long. Well now I'm thinking I might just sell the dang thing and forget about it.
I enjoy the sim very much, but I don't want to have to spend 50 bucks evey 5 months because the box goes kaput!
Man I'm in a bad mood now!!!

I took it apart o see what the problem was. There is a little pin in the gimbal that holds the stick to the throttle pot, it had some how worked itself nearly out and was catching. I put it back in and everything seemed right. Went to put it back togetherr and pop. A little spring went flying. I searched for a hour to no avail. I had to scavage a spring from one of my old radios. (Don't worry it didn't work anyway.) And everything is back to working. Still kinda upset about GP support though.

I am so sorry about your RealFlight Technical Support experience. Please accept my sincere apology. If there is anything I can help you with...I have extra springs I can send btw... here are the instructions for permenantly fixing the interlink:
I can give you a couple of options to fix this problem:
A. You can return this for warranty service and we will fix your controller. If you look at the gimbal and see any cracks in the plastic you will need to do this option. Be sure that your RealFlight is registered with us to receive warranty service. Then send us your InterLink controller along with a note asking us to fix your controller, please include your name address and phone number on the note. Send the note and controller to us at:

B. If you think that you can fix this, you will need a phillips screw driver, a drop of super glue, and a small slot screwdriver. You will also need alot of patience. Please follow the instructions below:
1. Remove the 4 screws on the back of your controller.
2. Locate the affected gimbal and use the slot screwdriver to pry the top edge of the center piece up and move your gimbal to the uppermost position and again using the slot screwdriver remove the bottom connection of the gimbal (where the plastic piece is attached to the trim pot).
3. Once you have removed this piece, look for the metal pin that is in the center of the assembly * usually on the piece you just removed.
4. Wipe the pin free of grease and locate the center hole on the gimbal assembly still attached to your controller. Place 1 drop of thin super glue in the center hole and insert the metal pin. Be sure that the pin is inserted all the way into the hole and let it dry.
5. Now, When you reassemble, you will need ALOT of patience! You will need to start by angling the bottom edge of the piece you removed back into the trim pot, as you do this you will need to try to line up the metal pin and the hole on the upper part of the gimbal assembly. This will take some time to line up and it can be frustrating. Take a break from it if you start to get tense! When you line the pin and hole up correctly, the top of the assembly can be slipped into place quite easily.
6. Once the gimbal assembly is in place, move the gimbal around to free up the springs as they may have gotten stuck and not feel smooth. Once you hace assured that the gimbals are moving as they are supposed to, put the back on the controller and tighten the 4 back screws.
7. Congratulations, you have fixed your controller!
