Computer: 2.5 GHz dual core AMD processor, 2gb RAM, Win XP Home SP3
Transmitter: Hitec Flash 5 System X
Interface cable: TTI FMS Futaba/Hitec version U3, USBc purchased from Helihobby.com
When I first started using FMS with the above interface cable I was running it on my old Dell laptop with Win XP SP2. It worked great every single time. ..but the laptop is no longer in service since it doesn't run very well anymore.
A few months ago I built a new computer with Win XP SP3. I'm still using the same transmitter and cable. Anytime I want to run FMS I have to uninstall the interface cable drivers, unplug the cable, reboot the computer, plug in the cable, reinstall the drivers per instructions, and then it may or may not work. I've been hooking the cable up to the front USB ports. I already tried the back ports with the same results. I know it isn't a plugNplay issue because Windows recognizes when I plug and unplug the cable from the USB port. I don't think its the transmitter since it has a full charge. Before I run FMS I use the PICChk utility that came with the cable to check the signal. I have it set to the correct port. When I tell it to check the signal it just hangs, no error messages or anything and it will stay like that until I force it to close.
I also tried it on dad's computer...Win XP SP3 and it works just fine.
Anybody have any ideas? Is it possible that my cable went bad?
